Crock Pot Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork is a versatile, succulent and juicy pork that you can cook in your slow cooker. It takes less than 10 minutes to make enough pulled pork to feed more than one person!

You can serve your pulled pork in a bun or roll with slaw. But it's more than just sandwiches. You can also serve it on mashed potato with gravy or bbq sauce, over a salad with fried egg, or on rice. Add to tacos, soups, grilled-cheese sandwiches or pizzas.

You can create a variety of quick, satisfying and delicious meals for your family with just a little effort. It's amazing, isn't it?

Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork Slow Cooker

This Dr. Pepper pulled pork recipe is easy to make and will pay off for a small amount of work. We get enough to feed at least two generous meals, even with our family of big eaters.

Pork shoulders can be used to make 4 or 5 meals if you are feeding a small group. Pork shoulders are one the most economical cuts of meat that is available today, so this recipe is not only tasty, but also budget-friendly.

I really meant it when I said this recipe was easy. Ingredients and equipment are both short.

Pulled Pork Ingredients

  1. Bone-In Pork Shoulder
  2. Onions
  3. Whole Cloves Garlic
  4. Kosher
  5. Black Pepper
  6. Dr. Pepper
  7. Dijon Mustard

You can use any dark soda, even Dr Pepper. You can mix it up a little; you can use two cans each of Dr Pepper and root beer.

Combine Dr. Pepper and cola. Allow your spirit to move you.

However, I wouldn't use diet Dr. Pepper or any other diet sodas. They do not taste or feel good when reduced to syrup because they don't have sugar.

What is the best cut of meat for pulled pork?

The best meat to use for pulled pork is the bone-in shoulder of pork. This is a part of the pig which is richly marbled and full of tasty fat. It helps to keep the meat moist during the long, slow process.

There is no hard-and-fast rule for what cut of pork to use for pulled pork. Pork shoulder is the best cut of pork for pulled pork. However, there are other options.

These cuts (whether they are boneless or not) will produce juicy meat. If you choose a boneless pork cut for your pulled-pork, you can reduce the cooking time.

  • The best cut of pork to use for pulled pork is the bone-in pork shoulder
  • Pork Butt
  • Boneless Pork Shoulder
  • Boston Butt
  • Bone-In Pork However
  • Boneless Pork Butt
  • Picnic Roast
  • Shoulder Roast
  • Shoulder Butt Roast
  • Boneless spare ribs

You may also want to steer clear of the more delicate or leaner cuts. They tend to get dry and stringy when cooked in a crockpot, despite what you might think.

These cuts are too thin and lack connective tissue for a tender, silky pulled pork. They are perfect for grilling and broiling!

What Cuts of Meat Should You Avoid When Making Pulled Pork

  • Tenderloin
  • Center Cut Boneless Pork Loin
  • Top Loin
  • Sirloin Roast

Equipment

  1. Slow Cooker 6 Quart and Larger
  2. Chef Knife
  3. Cutting Board
  4. Saucepan
  5. Spoon

Pork Crock Pot Recipes

We've got the perfect recipe for you, whether you're searching for the best pulled-pork recipe or another easy pork-licious slow cooker recipe. The crockpot can be used to make a variety of pork dishes, from Slow Cooker Mojo Pork, to Slow Cooker Pork roast with peach salsa, sweet potatoes and baked beans, to Slow Cooker Korean Style Pork Tenderloin, and more.

Crock Pot Dr. Pepper Pull Pork

Crock Pot Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork is a versatile, succulent and juicy pork that you can cook in your slow cooker. It takes less than 10 minutes to make enough pulled pork to feed more than one person!

Place the onions in the slow cooker. On top of the onions, place the pork shoulder.

Pour one Dr. Pepper can on top. Sprinkle salt, pepper and red pepper flakes over the shoulder of pork. Cover and cook at LOW for 6-8 or HIGH for 4-5.

Combine the remaining Dr. Pepper cans with the Dijon Mustard in a large saucepan over high heat towards the end of the cooking time. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low to maintain it.

Continue cooking the soda-mustard mixture until you reach a syrupy consistency and it has been reduced to approximately 1 cup. This can be set aside.

Once the pork shoulder has reached a tenderness that will make it fall apart, shred the meat in the slow cooker while it is still cooking. Remove the bone and large amounts of fat. Add the Dr. Pepper syrup reduced and serve.

NOTES:

After cooking, the pork should be so soft that it falls off the bone when you lift it. If the meat is not meltingly tender, you can cover it and cook it a bit longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between basil and oregano?

Both of these herbs belong to the Lamiaceae family. They share similar flavors, but the differences are obvious.

Oregano is more pungent than basil. It also adds an extra layer of flavor to foods.

Basil leaves are smaller than oregano leaves. They are also softer and less aromatic.

The two herbs are often used interchangeably. Although they are quite similar, each has its distinctive qualities.

What is the difference between "regular" and smoked paprika powder?

Regular Paprika Powder (Piment d'Espelette) is an essential ingredient for our recipes. We use it for its intense flavor and color. It's also used as a spice and seasoning agent. Smoked Paprika Powder (Paprika Chorizo) adds a smoky taste and aroma to dishes. Both types of Paprika Powder come from Spain, where they grow the best peppers in the world.

Smoked Paprika Powder (Chorizo Paprika) is made from red peppers, which are dried slowly in special ovens. This gives them a rich flavor. They are then ground and mixed with salt, garlic, and spices.

Regular Paprika Powder (Espelette Paprika) is made by grinding green bell peppers without additives.

What are the disadvantages of using herbs?

Herbs are a great way to keep your body healthy because they contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes, amino acids, phytonutrients, polyphenols, flavonoids, terpenes, essential oils, carotenoids, sterols, and sterolins. Some even contain cannabinoids.

But there are also lots of side effects associated with herbal remedies. For example, taking too much herb could cause liver damage or even death. Herbal supplements may interact with prescription drugs, which means that they might affect how well the drug works.

Some herbs can interfere with blood clotting, while others may increase bleeding when taken with anticoagulants (blood thinners).

There are also safety concerns for pregnant women and children.

The bottom line is that herbs aren't safe for everyone. If you're considering trying them out, do your homework. Look up each product's side effects and warnings and read reviews online.

Statistics

  • Herbs are among the most popular and widely used medicinal remedies. According to a survey conducted by the National Institutes of Health, herbs were used by over 38% of adults in the United States.
  • Studies have shown that cinnamon can lower fasting blood sugars by 10-29% in diabetic patients, which is a significant amount (9Trusted Source10Trusted (healthline.com)

How To

How To Upcycle Herbs After Making Infusions, Oils, Tinctures, And More?

There are more ways to use herbs than you might realize. This is why it's essential to keep an open mind when learning how to make herbal infusions, oils, tinctures, and more.

You'll find that there are many methods for making these products, and even though they may seem similar, each method has its benefits.

For example, some methods include creating decoctions, boiling water or alcohol with the herb(s), and letting them simmer for a while. These infusions are solid and potent because they contain higher concentrations of active compounds.

Another type of infusion includes macerating the herb(s), which means soaking them in liquid for a few hours or even overnight. Macerations tend to produce milder results because the plant material isn't boiled.

Some cold-infused forms involve steeping herbs in cool liquids such as ice cubes or cold water. Cold infusions are gentler than hot ones, often used to treat minor ailments.

Herbal oil extraction involves heating the herb(s) to release the essential oils. You can either do this yourself or have someone help you out with it.

Finally, there are tinctures made by mixing herbs with alcohol. They're usually taken orally and are very effective for treating coughs, colds, and flu symptoms.

The best way to learn how to create infused products is to experiment with various techniques. Each technique offers a different potency and effectiveness, depending on the herb(s) you choose.

Once you've tried a few different methods, you'll begin to develop your preferences. In time, you'll be able to determine which techniques work well for you and which aren't worth pursuing.
